Portuguese cuisine is in fact simple and quite healthy - it's mainly based on d various seafood (all kinds of fish, shells, crustaceans and other wonderful ocean stuff). D most popular fish is definitely cod-fish, they eat it in numerous forms and it's widely available there. What I also noticed is they don't eat meet that much, especially chicken and turkey r rarely found on d menus. You can encounter pork (especially different type of sausages) or Brazilian beef. They r also proud of their high quality olive oils and wines. Porto would probably be d most recognized wine (in fact it's almost a liqueur how sweet and strong it is). Deserts r also quite popular, especially lovely little pastries filled with sweet cream and cinnamon (sth between Yorkshire pudding and Croatian "rožata"). They commonly eat dinner later @ night and food/drinks r quite affordable so this is a great destination 4 all fans of fine wining n' dining.
